Kayla is an artist and mother based out of Eugene, Oregon. Ever since she can remember being old enough to hold a paintbrush, she has loved to create. It remained a hobby throughout her childhood and through college, when she first began setting up a booth at the local Eugene Saturday Market and selling her paintings. In 2019, she spontaneously opened an art studio out of an old warehouse she found on Craigslist and began teaching Paint & Sip Classes on the weekends.
As an oil painter, she focuses on realism portraits, as she is fascinated by the human face and expression. She aspires to paint portraits that convey strong emotions and themes. In addition to creating original paintings on canvas, she has begun to expand her mural portfolio. She currently has murals in Eugene, Walterville, Salem, Carlsbad, Los Angeles, and Coeur D'Alene.
Kayla's son Landon is her inspiration behind everything she does. After having her son when she was only sixteen years old, Kayla was the recipient of a generous scholarship from The Ford Family Foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Art in Spanish from the University of Oregon in 2019. Being a teen mom did not deter her from pursuing her dreams but gave her more motivation to be successful for her son. She hopes to instill in him an ambition to chase his dreams and be fearlessly courageous.
