Kayla is a full-time artist based out of Eugene, Oregon. Ever since she can remember being old enough to hold a paintbrush, she has loved art. It remained a self-taught hobby throughout her childhood and through college, when she first began setting up a booth at the local Eugene Saturday Market and selling paintings. In 2019 she spontaneously opened an art studio out of a warehouse she found on Craigslist and began teaching Paint & Sip Classes on the weekends.
By 2021 she had rapidly gained a following of around 490,000 on Tik Tok for her painting time-lapses. Shortly after, she left her 9-5 job to become a full-time artist. As an oil painter, she focuses on realism portraits, as she is fascinated by the human face and expression. In addition to creating original paintings on canvas, she has begun to expand her mural portfolio. She currently has murals in Eugene, Walterville, Salem, Carlsbad, Los Angeles, and Coer D'Alene.
Kayla's son Landon is her inspiration behind everything she does, and she strives to show him that any dream is attainable if you pour your heart and soul into it. After having her son when she was only sixteen years old, Kayla was the recipient of a generous scholarship from The Ford Family Foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Art in Spanish from the University of Oregon in 2019. Being a teen mom did not deter her from pursuing her dreams but gave her more motivation to be successful for her son.
